This policy explains the data we process to provide simi, why we process it, how long it is retained, when it is shared, and the controls available to you.

1. Information we process

  • Account identity: a stable Google account subject is stored using encryption and an irreversible lookup hash to recognize the same login account.
  • Google profile data: after authorization, first registration may read and retain display name, given name, family name, birthday, gender, profile-photo source URL, profile version, and retrieval time.
  • Profile image: a Google profile image is imported into protected object storage only after trusted-source checks, real-image validation, and content-safety review.
  • Google email: Google may display an email during account selection or consent; the simi backend does not currently retain the Google email address.
  • Security and operations: we may process login time and result, country or region, hashed device identifiers, and security logs that are necessary to protect the service.

2. How Google data is used

The Google subject is used only for authentication, account linking, and prevention of mixed credentials. Name, profile image, birthday, and gender are used only to suggest first-registration profile values, display a profile, assess age eligibility, and protect users. Suggested values can be reviewed and changed before the in-app profile is saved.

3. Tokens and minimum permissions

simi does not retain Google ID Tokens, Access Tokens, Refresh Tokens, or client secrets. A short-lived Access Token is used only to complete the current People API profile request. We do not request Google permissions for speculative future features.

4. Retention and deletion

Google profile snapshots and account identity information are generally retained while the account is active. You may request account deletion in simi; the request enters the configured cancellation cooling period, and after deletion is completed, account profile data is deleted or anonymized through our deletion process. Limited security records may be retained only as necessary to prevent fraud, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. You may also contact us to request access to or deletion of your data.

5. Sharing and sale

We do not sell Google user data and do not use it for undisclosed advertising. Data is processed by bound cloud-hosting, object-storage, or image-safety providers only when necessary to provide visible product features, or disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect users and the service.

6. Your rights and choices

  • View and update your in-app profile in simi.
  • Revoke simi access from the third-party connections settings in your Google Account.
  • Request account deletion in simi, or contact us to request access, correction, or deletion.
  • Decline birthday or gender access and follow the product flow to enter missing profile information manually.

7. Security, children, and updates

We use access controls, encryption, least privilege, and content-safety measures, although no internet transmission is absolutely secure. simi is not intended for people below the minimum age required by the product or applicable law. If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and provide an in-product notice when appropriate.
